«The Capacity Building Program for Private Water Operators funded by 3i»
The Capacity Building Program for Private Water Operators funded by 3i is a program designed to promote and catalyse business growth in the infrastructure sector of both water sector and electricity sector in Cambodia.
It will expand the delivery of key infrastructure services in a sustainable way, consistent with Government priorities and policies. 3i interested to partner with the private sectors to expanding their water supply services to more households.
This will create new business enterprise opportunities in the rural and remoted areas where is part of Cambodia, and will generating better health and welfare benefits for the most vulnerable and the poorest population in Cambodia.
Since 2017 up to 2020, CWA’s received a financial supported from 3i (designed a program) to train the selected water operators through capacity building. The main objective for this capacity building training for the selected water operators will focus on the operational and maintaining clean water treatments and the basic business management.
The program will ensure that operators full fill their knowledge and skill that need to operating their water supply system and producing clean and safe water supply to their customers as a whole. The training program has two training; technical management and business management trainings and the program consist of coaching sessions which help participants to practise their learning in the real situations.
As a result, totally 72 PWOs signed the Learning Contract Agreement with the CWA from 2017- 2020. The 12 trainings on technical and business management were organized which there were 234 participants. The 37 coachings were conducted which there were 157 participants.
